Attention Floridians: Rockledge, Florida - New Aquifer Storage and Recovery Well
Threatens The Floridan Aquifer - Florida Residents Main Source Of Drinking Water
The City of Rockledge, Florida proposes to annually inject 180 million gallons of partially
treated sewage into the Florida Aquifer, technically named the Floridan Aquifer, the Underground Source of Drinking Water (USDW), via an Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR) well. The City has banned all potable water wells within a one mile radius in preparation for their application for a cycle testing permit to be submitted to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP). The City has never held a formal public hearing to allow residents to express their concerns for their water rights, loss of property values, and impacts to the Floridan aquifer and the Indian River Lagoon, which is less than 2,000 feet from the proposed injection site. The EPA's top 126 Priority Pollutants are all found in this waste water. They are carcinogenic and/or harmful to human health. Residents are fighting to keep partially treated sewage water out of the Florida Aquifer, out of private wells, and out of the Indian River Lagoon.
Concerned About Fluoride In Your Drinking Water?
Many people are concerned about the dangers of fluoride in water. Fluoride is not a necessary nutrient. For years dentists recommended using toothpaste containing fluoride thinking it helped children have healthier teeth. Young children have been known to eat toothpaste containing fluoride. Caution your children...
Fluoride is a natural occuring substance in our environment. Most city utilities are known to add fluoride to our drinking water. We uptake fluoride not only from the water we drink, but also the foods we eat.
If there really is any benefit to the consumption of fluoride, we would find it listed on our multi-vitamins. Learn more about fluoride - Read my article - The Dangers of Fluoride
